To carry out a qualification test on fume cupboards, the method to be followed is that specified in standard UNI EN 14175, Part 4.
The advantages of following the method described in the standard are:

the use of an accurate measurement detection system - the identification, through testing, of the containment factor indicating a device’s leakage limit.

To verify whether a fume cupboard is effective and suitable for the operations carried out by operators, the Marco Ortelli Srl web system provides a platform that allows the actual chemical risk to the operator to be assessed. The platform cross-references the data produced by on-site tests carried out in accordance with European regulations (the leakage limit or containment factor) with the values relating to the chemicals handled within the device.
The purpose of the test is to determine a device’s ability to contain a specific chemical substance when handled within it.
The test results provide the parameters for determining the device’s safety limits.
