Accredia certification; Why Marco Ortelli Srl has the edge
Accredia
Accredia is the sole national accreditation body designated by the Italian government, in accordance with European Regulation 765/2008. It certifies the competence, independence and impartiality of certification, inspection and verification bodies, as well as testing and calibration laboratories. We take immense pride in this accreditation. Not only for its prestige, but also for the values that the certification requires to be upheld, and with which Marco Ortelli Srl fully identifies.
The issuance of official inspection certificates for every single check carried out on the hoods consists, in fact, of an examination of an item to assess its conformity. This is based on certain factors. For example, professional judgement and general requirements. The purpose of the inspection is ‘conformity assessment’, i.e. to demonstrate that the requirements specified for an item have been met. The inspection body has the task and responsibility of carrying out conformity assessments of the items under inspection, ensuring that the process is conducted impartially and independently.
Having certified tools does not mean issuing certificates
Unfortunately, there are professionals who persist in promoting a misconception of what it means to carry out an inspection or a measurement and issue a certificate. Indeed, there remains a mistaken belief that it is sufficient to have certified measuring instruments in order to issue a certificate.
Possessing certified instruments does not necessarily mean possessing the know-how required to use those instruments correctly. Accredia accreditation, on the other hand, has officially recognised that Marco Ortelli Srl knows how to use verification instruments correctly by applying the prescribed methods.
Marco Ortelli Srl can carry out services for the assessment of fume cupboard performance, preliminary checks, inspections and laboratory tests in accordance with ACCREDIA 17025 and ACCREDIA 17020 accreditation as a Category A independent inspection body.
Not just Accredia certification
The company also promotes the #culturatutelarischi concept – a message it aims to spread as widely as possible to raise awareness of safety. This involves ensuring that safety conditions are in place, that the equipment installed and used complies with regulations, and that it is used in the most appropriate way to safeguard people’s lives and the environments in which they work and live. Safety should not be viewed as an obligation, or as an extra ‘cost’. It is a necessity that protects our lives.
It is an investment in greater peace of mind that can prevent significant harm. And it is, to all intents and purposes, a responsibility borne by those in the know. Failing to take these aspects into account and failing to understand their significance can be very costly. Both in terms of the legal liabilities of the employer and the designated staff, and in terms of the health of people and the environments in which they work.
